VPS Server’s Research: Iceland’s Internet Dominance in Europe

According to a recent study conducted by VPS Server, Iceland has emerged as the undisputed champion of internet service in Europe. The research delved into various factors, including average internet speeds, household internet access, mobile data costs, and broadband prices, to determine the best digital deal across the continent.

Iceland: Where Internet Excellence Prevails

Securing the top spot, Iceland offers a highly sophisticated internet infrastructure, with an impressive 98% of households connected to the web. Users in Iceland enjoy blazing-fast average speeds of 216 Mbps, though the cost is relatively steep at £60. Nonetheless, the exceptional quality of service could very well justify the price.

Spain: A Strong Contender

Spain comes in second place, providing web access to 96% of its households. With average speeds reaching 115 Mbps, the country boasts a thriving online culture and a booming e-commerce industry. What’s more, internet costs in Spain are wallet-friendly, with 1 GB of data priced at a mere 0.47p and broadband subscriptions at £24.

Romania: Impressive Speeds at an Affordable Cost

Claiming the third spot is Romania, where 89% of households have internet access. Users here enjoy impressive average speeds of 112 Mbps. Moreover, the cost of broadband and mobile data is exceptionally low, at £5.90 and 0.35p, respectively.

France, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands: Solid Performers

France and Luxembourg occupy the next two spots on the list, offering solid coverage and high-speed connections. The Netherlands, with a tech-savvy population, sees 98% of its citizens actively using the internet. However, their broadband costs are slightly above the European average, amounting to £37.

Liechtenstein and the United Kingdom: Speedy Connections

Liechtenstein, despite its small population, boasts remarkable speeds averaging at 166 Mbps. Meanwhile, the UK’s average speed aligns with the European standard at 72 Mbps. Internet access is available to 97% of UK households, with an average cost of £26, matching the EU average.

Malta and Poland: Advancements in Digital Initiatives

Taking the ninth and tenth spots, respectively, Malta and Poland showcase progress in digital initiatives and offer low-cost internet services.

A Glance into Europe’s Tech Backbone

A spokesperson from VPS Server emphasized the significance of Europe’s internet infrastructure. The digital web connecting countries and empowering individuals fosters innovation, breaks down barriers, and makes the world just a click away. Continual investment and maintenance of this backbone signify a commitment to advancement, connectivity, and ultimately, a more interconnected society.
