This functionality, available on both iOS and Android smartphones, enables users to start a conversation with a stranger by simply entering their phone number within the app. Previously, individuals who were reluctant to initiate a chat with an unknown user without saving their number as a contact had to resort to cumbersome workarounds or installing additional applications.

Recently discovered by feature tracker WABetaInfo, the capability to start a chat with an unknown user has been integrated into the popular WhatsApp messaging service. Upon updating WhatsApp from either the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store, users can effortlessly begin utilizing this innovative feature by entering the desired individual’s phone number.

Previously, users were required to download third-party applications that facilitated starting a new chat on WhatsApp or enter “wa.me/” into their browser’s address bar, followed by the target person’s phone number. However, these methods lacked the user-friendly nature of the latest feature, which enables initiating a chat with a stranger directly within the app.
