Zong 4G Faces Major Country-Wide Disruption

Zong users had hours of downtime today (even more for some users). We spoke to dozens of mobile users from different cities across the country.

Thousands of users stormed Twitter with complaints about the network outage while the company worked to get back online.

Even when the users were back live, they continued to experience problems as it takes some time to fully restore from a complete halt to an entire network.

While the Zong spokesman confirmed the problems, he said that an unexpected commercial blackout was responsible for the network problems.

“Zong network services were temporarily unavailable in some areas. The power problem has been resolved and services have been restored. Any inconvenience is regretted, “he said in a statement shared with the media.

This is a unique outage and a rare scene in the Pakistani telecommunications market. We are waiting for more details on the development to be shared with our readers.
