Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited (PSMC) has raised prices for its motorcycles for the fourth time this year. The first price hike happened in January, the second in July, the third a few months ago, and the last happened to be the fourth.
The automaker had previously cited the depreciating local currency and the decline in sales caused by COVID-19 as the reason for the price increase to cover operating costs. However, business has picked up in the last few months following the easing of lockdowns, as has the value of the local currency, but prices continue to rise.
Following are the new prices for suzuki bikes:

It’s worth noting that PSMC posted a quarterly loss in Q3 2020, which is the eighth consecutive quarterly loss. According to the monthly report from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), PSMC had one of the best-selling cars year-on-year in one of the best-selling cars in the past two months and in September, meaning the Cultus saw a massive 29% drop in sales from the previous month (MoM) and 44% over the previous year.
In the bike segment, Atlas Honda remains the undisputed king in terms of sales, while Yamaha is also doing well, although the official sales numbers are not yet known. PSMC, with its limited range of products and sky-high prices, continues to struggle to establish itself as a strong competitor to Honda and Yamaha.
