Given the current COVID-19 situation, the Punjab government has decided to close all educational institutions in the province.
According to an official announcement, all public and private educational institutions across Punjab will be closed from April 29th until the Eid holiday.
In addition, the Punjab government has decided to change the operating hours of companies across the province. Now all but important shops in the entire province will be closed from 6:00 p.m. to Sehri.
Inter-provincial transportation will be suspended in Punjab on Saturdays and Sundays, while shrine closures in all counties in the province have been extended until May 17.
The Punjab government has also decided to promote the use of face masks through community-level campaigns and media education.
While the provincial government has ordered all district administrations to stay mobile to ensure strict compliance with the face mask wearing practice, mainstream media have been told to deal with punitive measures for violating COVID-19 SOPs on a large scale.
