Two private school associations have announced that they will be protesting in Islamabad against the government’s decision to close educational facilities amid the ongoing third wave of coronavirus.
All Private Schools Management and Association (APSMA) will protest on April 6th, while All Pakistan Private Schools Federation (APPSF) will hold their demonstration on April 8th.
Both protests will take place on Constitution Avenue in Islamabad as protesters will ask the government to overturn their decision to close the school due to the third wave of COVID-19.
Speaking to the media prior to the demonstration, APSMA Sindh Chairman Haider Ali said that school closings not only result in educational losses for millions of students, but also jeopardize the livelihoods of thousands of teachers.
He added that online education has produced unsatisfactory results around the world as scientists have identified it as dangerous to the mental health and well-being of children and parents.
On the flip side, Education and Health Ministers will meet at the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) on Tuesday to decide whether educational institutions should open from April 11 or continue to close given the current coronavirus situation.
دو نجی اسکولوں کی انجمنوں نے کورونا وائرس کی جاری تیسری لہر کے درمیان تعلیمی اداروں کو بند کرنے کے حکومت کے فیصلے کے خلاف اسلام آباد میں احتجاج کرنے کا اعلان کیا ہے۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق ، آل پرائیویٹ اسکولز مینجمنٹ اینڈ ایسوسی ایشن (اے پی ایس ایم اے) 6 اپریل کو اپنا احتجاج کرے گی جبکہ آل پاکستان پرائیویٹ اسکولز فیڈریشن (اے پی پی ایس ایف) 8 اپریل کو اپنا مظاہرے کرے گی۔
دونوں مظاہرے اسلام آباد کے کانسٹیٹیوشن ایونیو میں ہوں گے کیونکہ مظاہرین حکومت سے مطالبہ کررہے ہیں کہ وہ کورونا کی تیسری لہر کی وجہ سے اسکول بند کرنے کے اپنے فیصلے کو منسوخ کریں۔
مظاہرے سے قبل میڈیا نمائندوں سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے ، چیئرپرسن اے پی ایس ایم اے سندھ ، حیدر علی ، نے کہا کہ اسکولوں کی بندش سے نہ صرف لاکھوں طلباء کا تعلیمی نقصان ہوتا ہے بلکہ ہزاروں اساتذہ کی معاش کو بھی خطرے میں پڑ جاتا ہے۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ آن لائن تعلیم نے پوری دنیا میں غیر تسلی بخش نتائج برآمد کیے ہیں کیونکہ سائنسدانوں نے اسے بچوں اور والدین دونوں کی ذہنی صحت اور تندرستی کے لئے خطرناک قرار دیا ہے۔
دوسری طرف ، تعلیم اور صحت کے وزیر منگل کو نیشنل کمانڈ اینڈ آپریشن سنٹر (این سی او سی) میں میٹنگ کرنے والے ہیں تاکہ فیصلہ کریں کہ 11 اپریل سے تعلیمی ادارے کھولیں گے یا موجودہ کورونویرس کی صورتحال کو دیکھتے ہوئے انہیں مزید بند کردیں گے۔
