The heavily rumored Poco M2 Pro has arrived in India as the renamed Redmi Note 9 Pro, which combines elements of both the global and the Indian variant. It is essentially the same phone that was re-launched in the same market, but with better value for money.
Rumors originally said that the global variant of the Redmi Note 9 Pro would be launched in India as the Poco M2 Pro, but this is not the case here. The Poco M2 Pro actually combines elements from both variants. It gets the two-tone design and 33 W quick charge from the international version, but takes the 48MP camera unit from the Indian model.
You also get the improved vibration motor from the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max for better feel, but the rest of the specifications are completely identical.
The 6.67-inch LCD remains unchanged, and the design of the handset does not change either. It is powered by the Snapdragon 720G SoC and starts with a memory configuration of 4 GB / 64 GB. The 64MP camera was replaced with a 48MP unit, but the large 5,000mAh battery was retained along with the 33W quick charge.
Overall, it offers better value for money than the Redmi Note 9 Pro because it has the same price but has a handful of improvements. The Poco M2 Pro costs just $ 187 and is available in the colors Out of the Blue, Green and Greener, and Two-Tone Black.
