Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association Meets FBR Chairman

A delegation from the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) recently held a meeting with Asim Ahmad, the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) at the FBR Headquarters. The purpose of the meeting was to address various concerns and challenges faced by the pharmaceutical industry in Pakistan.

Key Participants and Discussion Points

The PPMA delegation, led by Syed Farooq Bukhari, Chairman of PPMA, consisted of members from the association, as well as a former Chairman. Afaq Ahmad Qureshi, FBR’s Member IR-Policy, was also present at the meeting. The discussion primarily focused on the sales tax regime governing the pharmaceutical sector and various operational issues.

Commitment of Support for the Pharmaceutical Industry

During the meeting, Chairman Asim Ahmad reassured the PPMA delegation of the FBR‘s commitment to providing comprehensive support in resolving the challenges faced by the pharmaceutical industry. The delegation expressed their concerns and issues, and the Chairman pledged to take necessary actions to address them effectively.
