After the completion of the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League, the Cricket Brotherhood in Pakistan turned its attention to PSL 6. The preparations for the sixth season are already underway and the PCB has announced the preliminary dates.
Wasim Khan, CEO of PCB, announced that PSL 6 is expected to take place from February 20th to March 21st and will be played in the same locations as PSL 5.
Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi have been set as the four venues for PSL 6, and Wasim Khan said the six franchises have been briefed on the dates and venues for the tournament.
He also said that the draft for the new season is expected to take place in the first week of January. The draft allows franchisees to make the necessary adjustments to their cadres by recruiting players of their choice.
According to sources, the draft is likely to take place in the open air at Karachi National Stadium, taking into account the COVID-19 situation in the country. Dubai, Lahore and Islamabad have submitted previous drafts and PCB plans to hold them in a new venue.
PSL 5 was the first edition of the league to be played entirely in Pakistan and despite some problems due to the pandemic, the tournament was a huge success.
