The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is working on the world’s largest and tallest cable car project in the Kumrat Valley in the Upper Dir district, which will be open to the public next year.
The decision was made during a provincial tourism department meeting on Thursday, chaired by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.
According to the detailed feasibility study and the technical design for the 14 km project, which will be completed in at least five months, it will cost around Rs. 32 billion.
The meeting was briefed on the key features of the cable car project that will connect the Kumrat Valley to the Madaklasht Valley in Lower Chitral.
The planners said the proposed project would be the longest and tallest cable car in the world, and would attract eight million domestic and foreign tourists to the province each year.
Not only that, but the project will also create employment opportunities for locals particularly and boost economic activity in the province.
Other facilities around the cable car include a parking lot for arriving tourists, a restaurant and other Allied facilities.

تفصیلا فزیبلٹی اسٹڈی اور انجینئرنگ ڈیزائن کے مطابق 14 کلومیٹر طویل منصوبے پر ، جو کم از کم پانچ ماہ میں مکمل ہوگا ، اس پر لگ بھگ 32 ارب روپے لاگت آئے گی۔
سیشن میں کیبل کار پروجیکٹ کی ضروری خصوصیات کے بارے میں بتایا گیا جو وادی کمراٹ کو وادی لوئر چترال سے میڈاکلاشت وادی سے مربوط کرے گی۔
منصوبہ سازوں نے دعوی کیا کہ مجوزہ منصوبہ دنیا کی سب سے لمبی اور بلند ترین کیبل کار ثابت ہوگا اور ہر سال اس ملک میں 80 لاکھ مقامی اور غیر ملکی سیاح اس صوبے کی طرف راغب ہوں گے۔
کیبل کار کے آس پاس دیگر سہولیات آنے والے سیاحوں کے لئے کار پارکنگ کی جگہ ، ایک ریستوراں اور دیگر متعلقہ سہولیات ہوں گی۔
