Punjab’s tourism department aims to elevate Kotli Sattian, an enchanting hill station in Rawalpindi district, to a prominent tourist destination. The region’s natural beauty and elevated location surpass even that of Murree, and plans are in motion to construct a state-of-the-art resort with modern amenities, including a European-style chairlift, to attract tourists.
Construction of Captivating Resort in Kotli Sattian
Kotli Sattian, renowned for its awe-inspiring landscapes, will soon witness the construction of a new resort designed to captivate visitors. The project will kickstart with a comprehensive study to determine the optimal route for installing chairlifts, offering tourists an exhilarating way to explore the area. A feasibility report will accompany the study to ensure the project’s viability.
Enhancing Accessibility and Expanding Tourism Potential
Efforts to improve accessibility to Kotli Sattian and expand its tourism potential are in progress. Approximately Rs. 3 million has been allocated for the chairlift route study and feasibility report preparation. International companies will be invited to bid for the contract to conduct the study and prepare the report. This inclusive approach will bring diverse expertise to ensure the best outcome for Kotli Sattian’s tourism prospects.
The first grand resort, with an estimated cost of Rs. 6.3 million, will be built in the picturesque Chewra Hill area of Kotli Sattian. Construction is scheduled to begin in late August or September, offering visitors a luxurious retreat amidst nature’s beauty.
Under the previous administration, Kotli Sattian gained recognition as a prime tourist destination, resulting in the construction of resorts in the rugged mountains of the region. Notably, Panj Pir offers breathtaking views to tourists, and over the past three years, the number of visitors to these high-altitude destinations has significantly increased.
With the ongoing development projects and the introduction of modern amenities, efforts are being made to develop well-constructed roads and modern transportation infrastructure, ensuring easy accessibility to the area for all.
By installing the latest European-style chairlift, the tourism department expects a remarkable surge in tourist numbers. Kotli Sattian boasts even more breathtaking natural scenes compared to Murree. The continuous development and introduction of modern amenities will undoubtedly enhance the area’s allure and further boost tourism.
