The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has ratified the Four Wheel Electric Vehicle Directive, which will prove instrumental in rationalizing the cost of buying, manufacturing and promoting the use of electric vehicles in Pakistan.
This was announced by the Minister of Industry and Production Hammad Azhar through his Twitter account.
He added that ECC has also ratified the removal of certain anomalies in the manufacturing policy for cell phones.
Federal Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said that this will play a crucial role in bringing about this great change in Pakistan. He went on to say that switching the vehicle regime from combustion to electricity will not only benefit the environment but also cause prices to decline.

انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ ای سی سی نے موبائل فون مینوفیکچرنگ پالیسی میں کچھ بے ضابطگیوں کے خاتمے کی بھی توثیق کردی ہے۔
وفاقی وزیر برائے سائنس و ٹیکنالوجی ، فواد چوہدری نے کہا کہ یہ پاکستان میں اس بہت بڑی تبدیلی لانے میں اہم کردار ادا کرے گا۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ دہن سے الیکٹرک تک گاڑیوں کی حکومت کو تبدیل کرنے سے نہ صرف ماحولیات کو فائدہ ہوگا بلکہ قیمتوں میں کمی کا رجحان بھی آئے گا۔
