ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Health Faisal Sultan has said that more sanctions may be imposed next week in view of the Corona epidemic. During a media briefing in Islamabad, Faisal Sultan said that the use of masks is the only way to save distance and clean hands. We are looking at the people and the country and that is why we will have to make tough decisions next week. We may impose further restrictions as we look at the data next week. The Special Assistant said that the number of corona cases in Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Karachi is increasing at an alarming rate. If the number of corona cases increases, it will be due to the internal situation in Pakistan. New SOPs will be issued soon in view of political meetings and rallies.
Dr. Faisal Sultan said that Pakistan has started the process of testing and trial of 4 different vaccines to prevent corona, out of which trial of vaccines of 2 Chinese and 2 western countries is underway, trial of vaccine against corona is two months. I am likely to be completed. In the last 24 hours, more than 900 new cases of corona have been reported in the country. The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has tightened restrictions on some public activities. Under this, markets, shopping malls, wedding halls, restaurants in 11 major cities will be closed at 10 pm while amusement parks and parks will be closed at 6 pm.
