The Federal Minister for General and Vocational Education Shafqat Mahmood, has convened another special meeting of the Conference of Interprovincial Education Ministers (IPEMC) to deal with increasing coronavirus cases.
The pandemic situation in the education sector and the possibility of an early and longer winter break will be discussed in detail at the meeting on Monday, November 16 at 11 a.m. at the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).
Federal Planning Minister Asad Umar, who also leads the government’s response to COVID-19, today recommended early and extended winter vacation this year. The recommendation came during the NCOC meeting.
The forum, taking into account a rising positivity ratio, has suggested early and extended winter vacations to ensure the safety and health of students.
The forum was informed about the increasing positivity rate at educational institutions. The NCOC decided to call an IPEMC meeting on Monday and discuss the matter in depth. In particular, the provincial education ministers meeting last week decided not to take an early winter break. According to reports, the ministers of Sindh and Punjab had not announced a winter break at all.

اس سے قبل آج ، وفاقی وزیر برائے منصوبہ بندی ، اسد عمر ، جو کورونا پر حکومت کے ردعمل کی سربراہ بھی ہیں ، نے رواں سال کے اوائل میں اور موسم سرما کی تعطیلات میں توسیع کی سفارش کی تھی۔ یہ سفارش این سی او سی کے اجلاس کے دوران آئی ہے۔
فورم کو تعلیمی اداروں میں بڑھتے ہوئے مثبتیت کے تناسب سے آگاہ کیا گیا۔ این سی او سی نے پیر کو آئی پی ای ایم سی کا اجلاس طلب کرکے اس معاملے پر تفصیلی گفتگو کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا۔
قابل ذکر بات یہ ہے کہ گذشتہ ہفتے صوبائی وزیر تعلیم کے اجلاس میں موسم سرما کی جلد تعطیلات لینے کے خلاف فیصلہ کیا گیا تھا۔ اطلاعات کے مطابق ، سندھ اور پنجاب کے وزرا نے سردیوں میں قطعیت کا قطعی اعلان نہیں کیا تھا۔
