The federal government has reportedly agreed to raise the salaries of its employees by 20 percent after a successful round of talks between the protesting party and the government.
According to media reports, the talks took place in the house of the Federal Defense Minister Pervez Khattak, where a delegation of government employees was assured a 20 percent increase in their salaries and the release of all employees who were assured of a clash with the police on Wednesday.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed confirmed the development in a Twitter post and instructed the Islamabad government to immediately release all arrested employees.
Sheikh Rasheed, Pervez Khattak, and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Khan represented the government in talks.
Federal government officials from grades 1 to 16 called for a raise and gathered in Islamabad to protest after their leader, Rehman Bajwa, and nine others were arrested.
They decided to move from the Pakistani secretariat towards the parliament building. The move was shot at with tear gas by the police. The demonstrators had once encircled Federal Information Minister Shibli Faraz.

گریڈ 1 سے 16 تک کے وفاقی سرکاری ملازمین اپنی تنخواہوں میں اضافے کا مطالبہ کر رہے تھے اور اپنے رہنما رحمان باجوہ اور نو دیگر افراد کے گرفتار ہونے کے بعد احتجاج کے لئے اسلام آباد میں جمع ہوئے تھے۔
