Pakistan announce Squad for 1st Zimbabwe ODI

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-strong squad for the first One-Day International (ODI) against Zimbabwe, due to take place on October 30th in Rawalpindi. PCB made the announcement on its official Twitter handle today.

The list doesn’t include Vice Captain Shadab Khan’s name, which reports confirm that he has not yet recovered from a leg injury.

The young leg spinner experienced stiffness in his left thigh during a warm-up game in Lahore last week. He will undergo a treatment and rehabilitation process. Its availability for the remaining ODIs will be confirmed before the second game.

The 15-member squad includes:

Pakistan’s T20I captain Babar Azam will lead the Men in Green in 50-over format for the first time. Wicket keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan will assist him in the game as vice-captain.

Many new names, including Musa Khan, Khushdil Shah and Usman Qadir, have been added to the 15-strong roster. It would be interesting to see how many players make their debut on Friday.

پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ (پی سی بی) نے 30 اکتوبر کو راولپنڈی میں کھیلے جانے والے زمبابوے کے خلاف پہلے ون ڈے انٹرنیشنل (ون ڈے) کے لئے 15 رکنی اسکواڈ کا اعلان کیا ہے۔ پی سی بی نے یہ اعلان آج سے پہلے اپنے آفیشل ٹویٹر ہینڈل پر کیا۔

اس فہرست میں نائب کپتان شاداب خان کا نام شامل نہیں ہے ، ان اطلاعات کی تصدیق کرتے ہیں کہ وہ ابھی ٹانگ کی انجری سے صحت یاب نہیں ہیں۔

گذشتہ ہفتے لاہور میں ہونے والے انٹرا اسکواڈ وارم اپ میچ کے دوران نوجوان لیگ اسپنر کو اپنے اوپری ٹانگ میں سختی محسوس ہوئی تھی۔ وہ علاج اور بحالی کے عمل سے گزرے گا۔ دوسرے ون ڈے میچوں سے قبل اس کی دستیابی کی تصدیق دوسرے کھیل سے پہلے ہوگی۔

پاکستان کے ٹی ٹونٹی کپتان بابر اعظم پہلی بار 50 اوور فارمیٹ میں مین ان گرین کی قیادت کریں گے۔ وکٹ کیپر بیٹسمین ، محمد رضوان اس کھیل میں نائب کپتان کی حیثیت سے ان کی مدد کریں گے۔
