Zoom will Lift the 40 minute Meeting Limit Again

The famous video conferencing application Zoom has a conference limit of 40 minutes for conference calls (with three or more members) that are handled through free accounts. However, in the spirit of the upcoming holidays and the new year, the limit on free accounts will be raised worldwide. Zoom users can have unlimited conference calls on the following dates:

1. December 17^th to December 19^th
2. December 23^rd to December 26^th
3. December 30^th to January 2^nd

These dates were set based on the Jewish festival Hanukkah, the Christian Christmas festival and the African festival Kwanzaa. The platform also lifted that limit last month after the American Holiday Thanksgiving.

Typically, when free account users want to have lengthy Zoom conference meetings, they have to laboriously start another meeting and get everyone to join again. This also means that everyone is included in the meeting again.

According to Zoom, many people around the world cannot vacation with their families due to the ongoing global pandemic. To help them get family time on vacation, Zoom decided to lift the limit. That way, they can focus less on the watch and more on catching up with loved ones.

In other news, Google Meetings also lets free users host calls that last up to 24 hours through March 31, 2021.
