As part of its Beyond Zero program, Toyota will soon introduce the world to a brand new electric vehicle (EV). Although the details of the vehicle have not yet been released, the Japanese automaker has released a teaser of the new EV.
Toyota will unveil its new EV on April 19, 2021. The apparently high ride height suggests that the new EV may be a crossover SUV and also represent a stylistic cross between the RAV4, the Mirai and the Prius that share certain “environmentally friendly energy” philosophies and properties.
Toyota had long toyed with the idea of adding an all-electric car to its product range, which easily put it behind the competition.
Other major automakers such as Volkswagen Audi Group (VAG), BMW, Tesla, Hyundai, Kia, General Motors, Stellantis Group, Volvo, and many other automakers from China have already established a presence in the EV market.
However, Toyota does offer a richer arsenal of eco-friendly vehicles, including plug-in hybrids, self-charging hybrids, fuel cell vehicles, and an upcoming electric vehicle.
Lexus, a subsidiary of Toyota, unveiled its all-electric LF-Z concept on March 3, hinting that the company will sell the first unit of its electric vehicle in 2025. Perhaps the introduction of Toyota’s electric vehicle will set the stage for a better and better result, more luxurious EV that will come from Lexus in the future.
