The new policy for electric vehicles is intended to drive a massive paradigm shift in the Pakistani automotive industry. In a relevant development, according to a report released by The News, Toyota plans to introduce a range of electric three-wheelers in the Pakistani market.
According to reports, Hiroyuki Toyoda, chairman of T-Trike Company (a subsidiary of Toyota Motors), and Rana Abid Hussain, president of Pak-Japan Business Council, have signed an agreement on the distribution rights for new electric tricycles in Pakistan.
According to reports, Hussain told the media that 3,000 electric tricycles will be brought to Pakistan first and that they will be locally manufactured in the next phase. However, discussions about these developments are still ongoing.
Hussain announced that the electric tricycle is very popular in Japan and that the company has established 150 dealerships across the country to meet the rapid demand for it.
The fully charged tricycle can travel up to 50 kilometers and carry loads of up to 150 kilograms.
Hussain also noted that the vehicle is very easy to use and incredibly cheap to own even in heavy traffic. He added that the vehicle was designed and manufactured by Toyota, due to which it has solid reliability and provides the driver with a high level of comfort and convenience.
While the cost is not yet known, the new electric tricycles with the new EV directive should be fantastic value to buyers.
