Eight lives were lost on Monday, bringing the death toll to 54, as a result of the devastating suicide attack that occurred on Sunday during a worker convention organized by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) in the Khar area of Bajaur.
Injured Victims Undergoing Treatment in Various Hospitals
According to the district health officer, more than 90 individuals with varying degrees of injuries are currently undergoing treatment in different hospitals. Among them, 38 bodies have been identified and handed over to their respective families.
Daesh Suspected in the Orchestrated Attack
While an investigation is still ongoing to locate other perpetrators, three suspects have been arrested, and preliminary findings point towards the terrorist organization Daesh as the orchestrators of this heinous act.
Corps Commander Visits Hospital to Show Support
Lieutenant General Sardar Hassan Azhar Hayat, the Corps Commander Peshawar, paid a visit to the District Headquarters Hospital Khar to inquire about the victims’ health. He expressed his commitment to providing all necessary assistance to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured. Additionally, he met with the families of the martyrs and prayed for their eternal peace.
