As the threat from COVID-19 lies above the academic future of the students, the Karachi Institute of Business Administration has taken an important step to help its potential students in these challenging times. In a comprehensive revision of the guidelines, IBA Karachi has made its admission process more flexible in order to meet the needs of potential candidates.
IBA Karachi accepts A-level grades that are awarded to students based on final exams and / or the Cambridge Board’s grading of guidelines. In addition, the IBA endeavors to consider all candidates whose intermediate and high school results are pending by granting them a preliminary offer for conditional admission. These candidates will be allowed to take high school exams by the end of the year and submit their results by early 2021 to secure admission.
The IBA also plans to support students who take their A-level exams in October 2020 with less course load so they can focus on their A-level exams that take place alongside their studies at the IBA.
In addition, IBA Karachi has developed a mechanism that, in the event that IBA admission tests do not take place due to the prevailing COVID-19 blockage, shortlisted admissions will be offered.
The selection criteria are determined by the IBA admissions committee as soon as all applications have been submitted by the applicants for each potential program by the deadline. Therefore, all potential candidates are encouraged to visit the IBA website for more information and to fill out the application form with as much information as possible.
IBA Executive Director Dr. S. Akbar Zaidi announced these policy changes and said that these changes were made out of concern for potential students whose academic future is of paramount importance to the institute. He said IBA Karachi plans to start the next academic year on time and will go out of its way to complete the upcoming admission on time.
