Honor Magic V2: Thinnest and Lightest Foldable Phone

Honor has recently revealed the Magic V2, their third-generation foldable smartphone, featuring an astonishingly slim design. The device is incredibly slim, measuring 9.9mm when folded and an impressive 4.7mm when unfolded. It weighs only 231 grams, adding to its portability and convenience.

Exceptional Design and Display

The Magic V2 is notable not just for its slimness but also for its exceptional design elements. The smartphone boasts a seamless unibody hinge mechanism that incorporates a 3D-printed titanium alloy cover. Within the hinge, specially designed short screws are integrated, ensuring a smooth folding experience.

Although the device lacks explicit ingress protection, Honor has implemented measures to improve durability. All internal components of the Magic V2 are coated with a P2i material, providing splash resistance and added peace of mind.

In terms of display, the Magic V2 features a large 7.92-inch LTPO OLED primary display. This stunning screen offers a resolution of 2,156 x 2,344 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering vibrant visuals with fluid motion. The display is HDR 10+ compatible, capable of reaching an impressive brightness of up to 1,600 nits in automatic mode. To ensure seamless and flicker-free animations, Honor has incorporated a 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming technology.

The Magic V2 also has a 6.43-inch secondary display. This cover screen shares the same high-frequency PWM dimming technology as the primary display and boasts a 10-bit OLED panel with a resolution of 2,376 x 1,060 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. With a peak brightness of up to 2,500 nits in automatic mode, the secondary display offers excellent visibility even under bright lighting conditions.

Powerful Internals and Advanced Camera System

Under the hood, the Honor Magic V2 is equipped with the robust Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. This powerful processor features an overclocked Cortex-X3 prime core running at an impressive 3.36 GHz. The standard Magic V2 model has 12 GB RAM and options for 256 GB or 512 GB storage. The Ultrame variant boasts 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage.

On the camera front, the Magic V2 excels with its versatile setup. The device sports a 50MP primary sensor with a wide f/1.9 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It is accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide lens featuring an f/2.0 aperture, allowing users to capture stunning wide-angle shots. Additionally, the smartphone incorporates a 20MP telephoto lens capable of 2.5x optical zoom and equipped with OIS, ensuring high-quality photos from different perspectives.

For selfies and video calls, the Magic V2 has a 16MP front-facing camera, housed in a punch-hole cutout within the main display.

To keep the Magic V2 running throughout the day, Honor has equipped it with a 5,000 mAh silicon-carbon power cell. This battery, combined with 66W wired charging, ensures fast and reliable power delivery.

The Honor Magic V2 will be available in Black, Silk Black, Silk Purple, and Gold color options. The smartphone will have a starting price of $1255 in China, offering consumers a premium foldable experience with exceptional features and design.
