China to Provide 4 Million Dolor Vocational School Equipment and Material to Pakistan

Pakistan and China have signed a bill of exchange (LOE) for vocational school equipment and materials worth $ 4 million (Rs 650 million).

The signing ceremony for LOE took place at the Ministry of Economy. China will provide USD 4 million (approximately Rs. 650 million) of training equipment to vocational training institutes and schools across Pakistan through the National Commission for Vocational and Technical Training.

Yao Jing, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, and Dr. Wang Zhihua, Ministerial Council of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, attended the ceremony. On the Pakistani side, Noor Ahmed, Federal Secretary of the Economy, signed the LOE. The LOE was signed by Chinese Ambassador and Minister of Economy Noor Ahmed on behalf of their respective governments.

The ambassador assured Chinese cooperation for socio-economic development in Pakistan. A number of projects for the social welfare of the poor and vulnerable are underway, including the Prime Minister’s low-cost housing program and stimulating the rural economy through agricultural support.

China has also helped Pakistan alleviate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and provide pesticides and grasshopper control equipment in the southern parts of the country. The ambassador also praised the continuity of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, particularly the establishment of an export-oriented industry in SEZs, despite the difficult global conditions due to the pandemic.

He Said:

China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners, and China will continue to support Pakistan in the fight against COVID-19 and contribute to the implementation of the people-oriented cooperative projects between the two countries with CPEC as a major platform.

At the signing ceremony, Noor Ahmed thanked the Chinese government for providing the equipment essential to modernize vocational schools and improve Pakistan’s vocational skills.

He reaffirmed his strong commitment to strengthening and expanding bilateral economic cooperation between China and Pakistan. Both sides agreed that the ongoing initiatives are being followed very closely to achieve the desired outcome so that people can benefit from Chinese aid.

The project is in line with the Pakistani government’s vision to promote vocational training and increase productivity in the economy, Ahmed said, adding that Pakistan and China have a very close relationship and China is a true friend of Pakistan, who always a helping hand is enough for the most difficult times.

Under the agreement, China will provide computers, equipment, and technical training to the National Commission for Vocational and Technical Training in Pakistan, and the project would cost $ 4 million. 17 vocational schools will be upgraded as part of the project.
