First Corporal Ghadeer Hamoud Al Kaabi, a brave civil defense officer in Dubai, has received recognition for his courageous efforts in rescuing 24 people, including women and children, from a devastating house fire.
Swift Response to a Raging Fire
As reported by Khaleej Times, Al Kaabi happened to be near the scene when the fire broke out, engulfing two cars, a tent, and an annex of the house. The flames rapidly spread due to the intense heat. Despite the visible smoke, the residents appeared unaware and made no attempts to escape.
Fearless Entry and Safe Evacuation
Al Kaabi observed the closed main gate and the absence of any signs of evacuation. Without hesitation, he promptly alerted the operations room and fearlessly entered the building. With utmost determination, he led the occupants to safety, away from the perilous fire and thick smoke. Al Kaabi even provided first aid to one of the injured individuals until the Civil Defence teams arrived.
Al Kaabi expressed his gratitude to Dubai Police for acknowledging his actions, highlighting that his brave response was merely a part of his duty as a member of the General Directorate of Civil Defence.
During the ceremony, Al Kaabi was honored by Major General Expert Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation, in the presence of fellow officers.
Maj. Gen. Al Mansoori praised Al Kaabi for his rapid response, while also commending Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director General of Dubai Civil Defence, and the entire Civil Defence team for their dedicated efforts in ensuring public safety.
