China has already faced the coronavirus pandemic and now it has controlled this disease to a great extent and this country has started helping other countries against this pandemic. They attempted to rebuild the damaged image because of the Coronavirus outbreak, they started exporting the face masks and other necessary medical equipments including testing kits, hazmat suits and ventilators to other countries, which are also facing this disease and there is great shortage of these supplies. There are many countries, which claimed that the face marks imported from China do not protect the people against the Coronavirus pandemic and they are not fit to use in the hospitals. The Health Minister of Finland stated that the 2 million surgical masks and 230,000 N95 masks were imported from China but these face masks do not give the protection to the people as they do not meet the safety standards against the COVID-19 pandemic. There are many other countries like Netherlands, Canada, Spain, Turkey, Australia, Georgia, Malaysia and Czech Republic stated that the face masks imported from China and other testing kits are also of the low standard and they do not meet the safety standards.
Chinese Government Rejects Claims
On the other hand, the Ministry of Commerce of China exported over 1 billion face masks across the globe after the spreading of the Coronavirus pandemic. They have signed the contract of $1.41 billion with 74 countries for the export of the medical supplies. The Chinese foreign ministry has rejected these claims about the faults in the face masks and medical supplies to other countries. The Chinese foreign office stated that the manufacturers have briefed clearly to all countries that these face masks are non surgical.
In a statement, it is said that the face masks of different categories offer different level of protection like the day to day use and medical purposes. These complaining countries are advised to double check instructions to ensure they order and pay for the right type of masks.
China Seized Faulty Medical Equipment
When different countries of the world made the complaints on the Chinese imported face masks and other medical supplies, the Chinese government stopped the export of substandard face masks and other medical equipments to other countries. The Chinese officials confiscated over 89 million sub standard face masks, 370,000 face disinfectants and 418,000 faulty PPEs.
