Vivo has recently introduced its latest V3 imaging chip, designed to enhance photography capabilities in their upcoming flagship smartphones. The highlight of this chip is its promise to bring a 4K movie portrait mode, similar to the renowned Cinematic mode featured on iPhones.
The exciting revelation came through a teaser shared by Jia Jingdong, Vice President and General Manager of Brand & Product Strategy at Vivo, on Weibo. The unveiling of the V3 chip marks the significant first announcement during Vivo’s ongoing imaging festival, which is set to run from July 23 to 31.
Jia Jingdong’s online post expressed enthusiasm as he elaborated on the exceptional capabilities of the self-developed 6nm V3 chip. With this chip, Vivo smartphones will have the power to record portrait mode videos at an impressive 4K resolution, along with a host of advanced post-processing editing features.
While the 4K portrait mode is undoubtedly an exciting addition, there is speculation about other potential features that the chip might offer. However, the main question remains: Which Vivo device will be the first to debut this cutting-edge imaging chip?
All eyes are on the forthcoming imaging flagship, the Vivo X100, which is expected to make its debut in the fourth quarter of this year. While the Chinese launch date is likely to be announced soon, the global launch may be scheduled a few months later.
