The HEC has announced that after December 31, 2020, the two-year MA and MSc degrees will no longer be recognized. According to sources close to the Commission, the two-year MA and MSc degrees will expire in 2021.
Students who are aiming for a two-year MA and MSc degree after December 31, 2020 will not receive HEC-certified degrees.
A letter from the HEC to the higher education institutions states that the 31st meeting of the commission decided to phase out the two-year MA and MSc courses.
The letter continued to inform the heads of the institutions to ensure the implementation of this decision and also to notify the students through other means, including their websites and email.
