The government has reduced the annual exam portion for next month’s matriculation and Intermediate exams to only electives on Wednesday.
Federal Minister of Education and Training Shafqat Mahmood announced at a press conference that it had been decided to reduce the curriculum in order to make it easier for students to take exams, which are due to begin after July 10th across Pakistan.
After the board exams were canceled last year due to the pandemic, the government is determined to hold them this year as competent authorities have taken into account the decline in new coronavirus cases attributed to the surge in vaccinations across Pakistan.
The examination committees in the provinces hold the Abitur and intermediate examinations; the subjects are divided into the compulsory subjects Urdu, English, Islamiat and Pakistan Studies; and the electives, which are particularly the natural sciences.
Minister Mahmood explained that “the grades of students in elective subjects are also distributed proportionally to the [compulsory] subjects in which no examinations are taken”.

Minister Mahmood stressed, however, that the exams are compulsory in order to minimize the loss of learning.

گذشتہ سال وبائی بیماری کی وجہ سے بورڈ کے امتحانات منسوخ کرنے کے بعد ، حکومت اس سال ان کا انعقاد کرنے کے لئے پرعزم ہے کیونکہ متعلقہ حکام نے نئے کورونا وائرس کے معاملات میں کمی کو ہی مدنظر رکھا جس کی وجہ پورے پاکستان میں ویکسینوں کی تعداد میں اضافے کا سبب قرار دیا گیا ہے۔
صوبوں میں امتحانی بورڈ میٹرک اور انٹرمیڈیٹ کے امتحانات منعقد کریں گے ، اور مضامین کو لازمی مضمون اردو ، انگریزی ، اسلامیات ، اور پاکستان اسٹڈیز میں تقسیم کیا گیا ہے۔ اور اختیاری مضامین جو خاص طور پر آرٹس اینڈ سائنسز کے مضامین ہیں۔
