The Minster of Science & Technology has given a proposal for the establishment of EV Development Board to regulate the electric vehicles in Pakistan. He also suggested the PM Imran Khan to end the duty on the imports of the electric vehicles.
While talking to Arab News, Minister said that an international automaker MG Motors has set a manufacturing plant in Pakistan and it is at its final stage of completion before the approval of EV policy. He said further, the Malaysian Proton is also planning to establish its manufacturing plant in Pakistan.
The minster further told that more than 24 EV manufacturers, 9 four wheelers and 15 of two and three wheelers are intending to make their investments in the EV market of Pakistan. The Federal Cabinet has approved the first electric vehicle policy of the Pakistan. Fawad Hussain Chaudhry said that the EVs will be helpful in reducing the pollution up to 35% as it is one of the major problems of the Pakistan. EV Policy aims to bring 25% vehicles to electric engines in the next five years
منسٹر برائے سائنس اینڈ ٹکنالوجی نے پاکستان میں برقی گاڑیوں کو لانے کے لئے ای وی ڈویلپمنٹ بورڈ کے قیام کی تجویز دی ہے۔ انہوں نے وزیر اعظم عمران خان کو بجلی کی گاڑیوں کی درآمد پر ڈیوٹی ختم کرنے کی بھی تجویز پیش کی۔
نیوز سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے وزیر نے کہا کہ ایک بین الاقوامی کار ساز کمپنی ایم جی موٹرز نے پاکستان میں مینوفیکچرنگ پلانٹ لگایا ہے اور یہ ای وی پالیسی کی منظوری سے قبل تکمیل کے آخری مرحلے پر ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ ملائیشین پروٹون بھی پاکستان میں اپنا مینوفیکچرنگ پلانٹ لگانے کا منصوبہ بنا رہا ہے۔
وزیر نے مزید بتایا کہ 24 سے زیادہ ای وی مینوفیکچررز ، 9 فور وہیلر اور 15 دو اور تینوہیلر پاکستان کی ای وی مارکیٹ میں اپنی سرمایہ کاری کرنے کا ارادہ رکھتے ہیں۔
وفاقی کابینہ نے پاکستان کی پہلی الیکٹرک گاڑی پالیسی کی منظوری دے دی ہے۔ فواد حسین چودھری نے کہا کہ ای وی سے آلودگی کو 35فیصد تک کم کرنے میں مدد ملے گی کیونکہ یہ پاکستان کا سب سے بڑا مسئلہ ہے۔ ای وی پالیسی کا مقصد اگلے پانچ سالوں میں 25 گاڑیاں بجلی کے انجنوں تک لانا ہے
