The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Elementary and Secondary Education Department has placed an immediate ban on all teacher transfers and new postings. This decision, effective from September 10, aims to prevent disruption to classroom learning now that schools have reopened after summer break. Officials believe that any staff reshuffling at this time could negatively impact students’ academic progress.
The department has issued a clear directive: teachers of all levels are not to submit any transfer applications to the Education Minister’s office or the Secretariat while the ban is in effect. Violators of this new policy will face strict disciplinary action. District education offices have been instructed to ensure the ban is implemented fully and without exception.
This policy emphasizes a major shift toward a more structured and predictable transfer system. Moving forward, transfers will only be allowed once a year during school vacations. Furthermore, all future transfers must be processed exclusively through the official e-transfer system, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
The Education Minister has called on all teachers to focus on their primary responsibility: providing quality education to students. He stressed that maintaining continuous academic activity is the top priority for the department and its staff following the recent reopening of schools. This measure is a step toward creating a stable learning environment for all students in the province.
