IT Ministry’s Beep Pakistan App Launching Next Week

The Ministry of IT and Telecommunication (MoITT) is set to introduce the “Beep Pakistan” application in federal government offices, aiming to enhance communication among government employees. The ministry has developed the application, and it is scheduled to undergo a test launch next week, which will likely be inaugurated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Aminul Haque. The National Information Technology Board (NITB) has played a key role in developing the “Beep Pakistan” app, which will facilitate international communication for government personnel.

Large-Scale Testing and Adoption Across Federal Departments

MoITT officials have recently concluded the testing phase of the application, reporting no bugs or technical issues. As part of the next phase, the ministry plans to conduct extensive testing by pre-launching the app in various government departments. The goal is to migrate employees from all 41 federal departments and ministries onto the “Beep Pakistan” application for international communication purposes. The application boasts several features, including audio-video calling, document sharing, and video conferencing, designed to streamline and enhance communication within the government sector.

Secure and Reliable Alternative to Social Media Platforms

The MoITT emphasizes that the “Beep Pakistan” application will serve as a secure alternative to popular social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp. By utilizing this platform, government data will be safeguarded against external interference and cyber-attacks. The software has received clearance from the National Telecom & Information Security Board, further ensuring its safety and resilience.
