The renowned ex-host of Good Morning Pakistan found herself in an embarrassing situation due to the less-than-flattering remarks made by the Indian actor about her looks.
In a candid conversation with Momin Saqib on his talk show, Had Kar Di, the actress disclosed her immense admiration for the Bollywood heartthrob. Shahid Kapoor had even extended an invitation to accompany him to an event following the interview. However, Shaista regretfully declined his kind offer.
Shaista recounted the story of being tasked with interviewing Shahid Kapoor in Dubai during her time as the host of Good Morning Pakistan. Prior to the interview, she decided to enhance her appearance, opting for a glamorous makeover that included heavy makeup and curly hair.
Filled with self-assurance, thanks to the reassurances from everyone around her that she looked “stunning,” the morning show host approached the interview. However, an uncomfortable situation arose when the producers presented t-shirts featuring her face for Shahid Kapoor to autograph. The Indian actor, unable to recognize her, expressed his confusion. Shaista hesitantly confirmed that it was indeed her on the t-shirt, to which Shahid awkwardly remarked, “You look different.”
Shaista confided in Momin Saqib, revealing her embarrassment over the incident with Shahid Kapoor. She expressed how caught off guard she was by the Bollywood star’s unfavorable response, which greatly affected her ability to carry on with the rest of the interview.
