Snow-Capped Babusar Top and Challenging Driving Conditions
Numerous videos circulating on social media depict the breathtaking sight of the snow-capped Babusar Top. The roads, too, have been blanketed in snow, rendering them slippery and reducing traction for vehicles. In addition, a relentless blizzard has significantly impaired visibility in the area.
Uncertainty Surrounding Reopening and Night Travel Ban
The ongoing snowfall has resulted in uncertain road conditions, prompting the local administration to withhold directives regarding the reopening of Babusar Pass. The process of clearing the roads is expected to take several hours.
In a related development, the district administration has recently imposed a ban on night travel between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan via the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road.
For the safety of passengers and tourists during the monsoon season, a ban is in effect from 6 pm until morning. This measure was implemented in consultation with the Chilas administration.
An official circular has been issued to communicate and enforce this decision. Police personnel have been deployed at Babusar Top to ensure compliance with the government’s order and prevent vehicles from crossing both sides.
