The Pakistani government has announced the nisab of zakat in Pakistan as the holy month of Ramadan approaches.
It has fixed the Nisab of Zakat at Rs. 80,933 in Pakistan.
Banks and financial institutions will deduct zakat from the government on Ramadan 1 in the amount of 2.5 percent from the amounts above the mentioned Nisab from the savings accounts, profit-sharing accounts and similar accounts, as announced by the general administrator Zakat.
Bank current accounts are excluded from this deduction. This year the minimum amount set by Nisab is higher than last year, the Rs. 46,329 due to the surge in silver prices this year.
The significant increase in fixed amounts was mainly due to higher gold and silver prices last year.
Zakat applies to the amount of savings for a holding period of one year that is equal to or greater than 7.5 tola gold and 52.5 tola silver. The benchmark or nisab is set against the value of the commodity that has a lower price value, i.e. silver.
Currently the price of a tola silver is Rs. 1,360. The nisab of zakat is set at the average annual value of the valuable metal.

زکوٰۃ کا اطلاق بینکوں ، اثاثوں کی انتظامی کمپنیوں اور دیگر مالی اداروں کے ذریعہ برقرار رکھنے والے اکاؤنٹس اور مصنوعات کی بچت پر ہوتا ہے۔ جن صارفین نے اپنا زکوٰۃ استثنیٰ سرٹیفکیٹ پیش کیا ہے ان میں کسی رقم کی کٹوتی نہیں ہوگی۔
بینکوں میں موجودہ کھاتوں کو اس کٹوتی سے استثنیٰ حاصل ہے۔ اس سال ، نسب کے اکاؤنٹ میں رکھی گئی کم سے کم رقم پچھلے سال کے مقابلے میں زیادہ ہے ، جو روپے تھا۔ 46،329 ، رواں سال چاندی کی قیمتوں میں اضافے کی وجہ سے۔
مقررہ رقم میں نمایاں اضافہ بنیادی طور پر گزشتہ سال ریکارڈ شدہ سونے اور چاندی کی زیادہ قیمتوں کی وجہ سے تھا۔
