Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, showcased his passion for martial arts by earning a Blue Belt in jiu-jitsu ahead of his much-anticipated match with Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter.
On Instagram, the 39-year-old Zuckerberg publicly expressed his congratulations to his jiu-jitsu coach, Dave Camarillo, who holds an impressive fifth-degree black belt.
He wrote:
Congrats Dave Camarillo on your 5th-degree black belt. You’re a great coach and I’ve learned so much about fighting and life from training with you. Also honoured to be promoted to compete at blue belt for Guerilla Jiu-Jitsu San Jose team
Camarillo was thoroughly impressed by Zuckerberg’s dedication and unwavering focus, acknowledging that the Meta CEO displayed a true passion for jiu-jitsu.
[Zuckerberg] is amazing. He is an extremely hard worker, as everybody knows. But a lot of people have a business and they’re successful and they have that side of their life, and rarely do they dip into the physical side, especially with something like Jiu-Jitsu and MMA, and have the same amount of success or even go past Day 1 or Month 1. He’s not that kind of guy
The social media rivalry between Threads CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter CEO Elon Musk is building up to a climactic showdown—an actual cage match. Both business tycoons recently took to social media to showcase their training teams, adding to the excitement.
In Musk’s corner stands the legendary UFC figure George St. Pierre, while Zuckerberg has the support of the highly decorated featherweight UFC fighter Alexander Volkanovski and the accomplished middleweight UFC champion and future hall of famer Israel Adesanya.
As anticipation grows among the majority, some critics have labeled the potential bout as a ‘parody’ of combat sports. Only time will reveal whether these skeptics will be proven wrong, as the two CEOs prepare to face off in the ultimate showdown.
