Mohammad Hafeez Offered Chief Selector Role
The recently appointed interim Management Committee has extended an offer to Mohammad Hafeez to take on the position of chief selector for the national cricket team. Zaka Ashraf, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), held a crucial meeting with the former cricketer on Thursday to discuss the offer. Hafeez, however, has not yet accepted the offer and has requested some time to contemplate it due to his existing commitments.
Hafeez respects PCB Chairman and considers favorable offer
During their meeting, the seasoned all-rounder conveyed his congratulations to Ashraf on his appointment as the head of the PCB and acknowledged his unwavering dedication to the sport. Hafeez expressed his high regard for Zaka Ashraf, stating:
“Zaka Ashraf is a capable administrator whom I hold in high regard. I will certainly consider a favorable offer to serve Pakistan cricket.“
Potential Changes in PCB’s Management Team
There are reports suggesting that the current chief selector, Haroon Rashid, is expected to be relieved of his responsibilities in the near future following the appointment of the new management. Apart from Hafeez, several other cricketers including Younis Khan, Mohsin Khan, Saleem Yousuf, and Shoaib Akhtar, are rumored to have been offered various positions within the PCB.
