The Directorate of Customs Valuation Lahore received multiple requests from various stakeholders regarding the Valuation Ruling for Wooden Splint Matches, prompting an extensive exercise to determine the appropriate export values.
Deliberations and Examination Process
Meetings were conducted with stakeholders, including representatives of Match Associations and manufacturers-cum-exporters of Safety Matches and Wooden Splint for Matches. Detailed discussions were held to address concerns related to the valuation of the subject goods.
Factors Considered in Determining Export Values
The customs authorities examined the documents, arguments, price trends, and export data presented by the stakeholders, along with conducting market surveys and analyzing international market trends.
The revised customs export value was calculated in accordance with Section 25A, read with subsection 15 of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1969.
