The World Health Organization (WHO) has embarked on an ambitious project aimed at revitalizing the healthcare infrastructure in Balochistan, which bore the brunt of devastating floods last year. Their latest endeavor includes the construction of 26 state-of-the-art labor rooms and the restoration of 100 damaged health facilities, signifying a major leap in healthcare accessibility for mothers and children in the region.
The introduction of these modern labor rooms is set to elevate maternity facilities in Balochistan’s hospitals, thereby significantly improving maternal and child healthcare services. The commendable role played by WHO in augmenting the healthcare system and providing crucial medical assistance to the people of Balochistan drew praise from Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi, the Parliamentary Secretary.
In a recent briefing with the parliamentary secretary, Dr. Sherani, the head of WHO Balochistan, disclosed further details about the ongoing initiatives. Among these, a cutting-edge dental unit is being established in Usta Muhammad, while warehouses are being set up at the offices of district health officers in Nasirabad and Jaffarabad districts to streamline medical supplies and services.
These transformative initiatives hold immense significance in enhancing healthcare access in Balochistan, and WHO’s steadfast dedication to this cause is truly laudable.
