In a disturbing turn of events, a family recently arrived from the United States fell prey to a daring robbery executed by three individuals posing as police officers. The shocking incident took place near Harbanspura on Lahore’s ring road, where the robbers intercepted the family’s car and forcibly stole gold worth Rs. 5.2 crore, holding the family at gunpoint.
According to reports, the family was en route from Lahore Airport to Faisalabad when they were unsuspectingly ambushed by the impersonators. The criminals had cunningly modified their white Corolla vehicle by adding a blue light, resembling a police siren, in order to create an illusion of an official law enforcement vehicle.
Under the pretext of conducting a routine inspection, the robbers menacingly brandished firearms, coercing the terrified family to hand over their valuable gold possessions. Swiftly and efficiently, the criminals executed their nefarious act, leaving the victims shaken and traumatized.
In response to this heinous crime, law enforcement agencies acted swiftly, registering a case and launching an immediate search operation to apprehend the culprits and ensure justice is served. Investigators are diligently working on gathering surveillance footage from the numerous cameras installed along the ring road and interchange to aid in their pursuit of the robbers.
