In the early hours of Thursday morning, a Russian air attack on the port city of Mykolaiv in Ukraine left at least 18 people wounded, with five of them being children. A three-storey residential building in the Mykolaiv city center bore the brunt of the attack. Vitaliy Kim provided updates on the situation through the Telegram messaging app, stating that emergency services were already on-site, assessing the damages, and tending to the wounded.
Odesa Region Under Supersonic Missile Threat
The nearby Odesa region was also targeted, with Ukraine’s air force warning residents on Telegram about incoming supersonic missiles from Russia. Authorities urged people to seek shelter to ensure their safety during the attacks.
Ukrainian President Denounces Russian Aggression
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the Russian drone and missile attacks on Odesa, expressing his outrage at the assault on both Ukrainians and the world community. He highlighted the significant impact on trade and humanitarian aid, as vital food supplies meant for Africa and Asia were stored in the attacked ports.
Tragedy Strikes in Russian-Controlled Crimea
Reports also emerged of an attack in Russian-controlled Crimea, where a Ukrainian drone strike resulted in damages to administrative buildings and a tragic loss of life, as a teenage girl lost her life.
