Six UAE Universities Among Times Young University Rankings 2023’s Top 250

In the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2023, a total of nine universities from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been recognized.

Among these universities, six have secured positions within the top 250 rankings established by Times. The remaining three universities have been designated with a ‘reporter’ status in the list.

The ‘reporter’ status is assigned to universities that submitted the required data for evaluation but did not meet THE’s eligibility criteria to receive a specific rank in the 2023 list.

According to the rankings, the leading Emirati university is UAE University, followed by the University of Sharjah and Khalifa University.

Emirati universities recognized in the Young University Rankings 2023

Young University Rankings

Every year, the Young University Rankings highlights the world’s best universities that are 50 years old or younger.

To assess and rank universities, THE employs 13 performance metrics encompassing teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. These same criteria are utilized in THE’s World University Rankings.

In the 2023 edition, a total of 605 universities from 78 countries are featured. Nanyang Technological University Singapore has achieved the top rank this year, with Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in second place and Paris Sciences et Lettres – PSL Research University Paris in third.

Hong Kong boasts the highest number of institutions within the top 10, while France leads with the most institutions in the top 20. Overall, Turkey emerges as the most represented nation with 47 universities, followed by India with 45 institutes, and the UK with 39 universities.
