The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has officially announced the commencement of the new Umrah season for citizens and residents of countries under the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), including Saudi Arabia itself. This information was reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Easy Application Process Through ‘Nusuk’ and ‘Tawakkalna’ Apps
Under this announcement, GCC citizens and residents can now apply for an Umrah permit through the convenient ‘Nusuk‘ or ‘Tawakkalna‘ apps. To be eligible for the permit, applicants must have successfully completed this year’s Hajj season. The ‘Nusuk’ app is specifically designed to facilitate the acquisition of permits for Umrah and visiting the Holy Rawdah in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. Simultaneously, the ‘Tawakkalna’ app ensures that applicants meet the necessary health requirements.
Umrah Opportunities for Pilgrims Outside the GCC Area
In addition to GCC citizens and residents, the Ministry has also stated that pilgrims from outside the GCC area can perform Umrah after the beginning of the new Islamic year. The new Islamic year is expected to commence on either Tuesday or Wednesday.
To make the Umrah process more accessible for Muslims worldwide, Saudi Arabia has introduced electronic visas. These e-visas can be obtained through the Nusuk platform, which serves as a comprehensive one-stop-shop for various services related to visiting Makkah and Madinah. The platform offers services such as housing, transportation, and information in multiple languages.
Initial Arrivals Expected on 19 July via E-Visas
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the initial arrivals utilizing the newly introduced e-visas are anticipated to take place on 19 July.
