Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori made a significant announcement on Sunday, revealing plans for the establishment of 300 tandoors across Karachi. The aim of this initiative is to provide affordable roti to the residents, with each roti priced at an incredibly low rate of only Rs. 2. The governor emphasized the importance of this noble cause during his speech at the Sindh Governor House, where students were gathered to take an entry test for an IT courses program.
The IT Program and Entry Test
The entry test for the IT program, held at the Sindh Governor’s House, saw an overwhelming response from students. Around 50,000 students participated in the test, showcasing their interest in subjects such as web development, artificial intelligence, and the metaverse. The program aims to educate children in these areas. Notably, over 500,000 children expressed their eagerness to join the program, and in the initial phase, 10,000 had the opportunity to take the entry test at the Governor’s House.
Inclusivity, Commitment, and Opportunities
Governor Tessori welcomed the participating children and esteemed guests at the entry test event. The occasion was graced by the presence of the Dubai Consul General and other prominent figures. During his speech, Governor Tessori highlighted the inclusivity of the program, bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds across Karachi, including both affluent and rural areas. He emphasized the significance of education as a true reflection of the spirit of Karachi.
Governor Tessori made it clear that both the IT courses program and the ration distribution from the Governor’s House are being carried out without utilizing any funds from the exchequer. He assured the public of his commitment to providing ration bags to 100,000 deserving families in Karachi. Additionally, after completing the IT course, individuals have the potential to earn between Rs. 1.5 to Rs. 2 million. The Dubai Consul General pledged job opportunities for those who successfully pass the IT course.
Governor Tessori expressed gratitude for the generous offer from an IT software company, which pledged Rs. 500,000 to students who successfully complete the program. He recognized the crucial role of the youth as the future of the nation and assured everyone that the entry test would be solely based on merit. Furthermore, he extended an open invitation to the public, encouraging them to voice their concerns at the Governor’s House, thereby demonstrating his commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.
