The Government of Punjab has taken a significant step towards promoting sustainability and combating plastic waste by introducing a groundbreaking plan to construct plastic roads throughout the province. Under this initiative, the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, has called for the completion of 107 inter-district road construction projects within a tight timeframe of three months.
Ensuring Transparency and Quality
During a recent meeting held in Lahore, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the importance of transparency and superior quality in all road construction projects. He stressed that the contracts for these projects would be awarded through electronic procurement, ensuring fairness and accountability.
Progress in Road Rehabilitation
Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi also shared an update on the ongoing road rehabilitation efforts in Punjab. Currently, there are 137 road rehabilitation projects covering a total distance of 2,600 kilometers, which are nearing completion. These projects aim to improve the existing road infrastructure, ensuring safer and smoother journeys for the people of Punjab.
Advancing Safe City Surveillance
In addition to the road construction initiatives, Chief Minister Naqvi has approved safe city projects in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala districts. These projects involve the installation of advanced surveillance cameras to enhance security measures and monitor criminal activities effectively.
Enhancing Law and Order
Recognizing the significance of the safe city projects, Chief Minister Naqvi has instructed the relevant authorities to expedite the implementation process in the aforementioned cities. He emphasized that the introduction of modern surveillance technology would greatly contribute to improving the overall law and order situation in these areas, ensuring the safety and well-being of the residents.
