The most awaited SUV Proton X70 has officially made its debut in Pakistan. The Malaysian Automaker Proton in collaboration with Al Haj Group brought the vehicle in Pakistan. As earlier discussed the Proton X70 is a compact cross over and is a premium SUV. The official launch ceremony took place via Facebook online stream on 18th December 2020.
The launch stage was handed over to Al Haj Group and famous TV stars Ali Ansari and Naveen Waqar hosted the launch of the Proton X70. The CEO of Alhaj Group, Hilal Khan Afridi explained about the detailed specs and features of the SUV X70 to the viewers. The following specifications and features were revealed in the launch event.
Design and Dimension
The Proton X70 has an aggressive front end appearance and looks similar to an uber-athletic hot hatchback with headlights, bumper and razor-sharp front grille. On the side look, X70 is a complete compact crossover SUV having a tall body, high gravity center and big wheels. The SUV looks more attractive and stunning with 18-inch wheel design and the chrome side impact strips.
The rear side of the SUV gives a look of European inspired super SUVs featuring sporty tailgate and a top spoiler, at the bottom center a break light and LED taillights gives a track racer look to the vehicle.
The newly launched Proton X70 comes with a 3 Cylinder petrol engine. The SUV will come with the color options like Quartz Black, Armor Silver, Snow White, Ruby Silver and Space Grey.
Performance
In the virtual launch, it was revealed that the SUV will be offered in two variants to the Pakistani Automotive market. Both variants will be housed with a 1.5-liter, turbocharged, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produce 176 hp and 255 Nm of torque. The engine of the vehicle is developed by Volvo and Geely. The 7-speed DCT automatic variant receives the power to front of all wheels depending on the variant.
All four wheels have disk brakes with Anto-lock Breaking System ABS technology. The SUV also has McPherson Struts at the front of the suspension setup. Both variants will support the sport driving mode and the eco-driving mode.
Variants and Features
The Proton X70 is comes to Pakistan as a Complete Built Unit CBU from Malaysia and the Pakistani market will also get all high end features as of International variant. The SUV is being offered in two variants to the Pakistani market All Wheel Drive AWD and Front Wheel Drive FWD. The features of the SUV include top trim level with premium 9 speaker sound system with an amplifier and woofer, 4G Wifi connectivity, GSM SIM Slot, Command System, Smart Voice Recognition, Cell Phone connectivity and 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system.
All variants will have a instrument cluster with LCD for vital information of the car. Other Key features of the vehicle include power windows, power driver-adjustable + ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, power-folding mirrors, day-night rearview mirror, teering wheel controls, a push-start button and welcome lights.
