Petrol Price likely to go down by Rs1.50

Federal Finance Minister Hamad Azhar, while announcing reduction in petrol and diesel prices, said that the government has decided to open sugar trade with India.

In his first press conference after assuming office, Finance Minister Hamad Azhar said that the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 1.5 and diesel by Rs 3.

He said that the government has decided to fix the price of wheat at Rs. 1800 per quintal, while it has decided to import sugar from India when the price of sugar is lower than Pakistan.

Our total sugar production is 5.5 to 6 million tonnes. We have allowed the private sector to import 500,000 tonnes of sugar from India,” Azhar said.

He said that cotton imports from India would also be opened by the end of June.

The Federal Minister said that our currency is standing strong, the dollar is not flowing, the basis of our every policy will be the welfare of Pakistan and the common man.

“I have come with a direct vote and I will go back to the people. I will be in direct contact with the members of parliament. All policies will be made in the public interest,” Azhar said.

Replying to a question, Finance Minister Hamad Azhar said that the SBP has become independent, current account deficit and foreign exchange reserves have stabilized, they are in touch with the IMF, it has paid an installment of 500 million.

ذرائع نے مزید بتایا کہ اگر حکومت نے عائد محصول میں اضافے کا فیصلہ کیا تو پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کی قیمتوں میں وہی رہ سکتی ہے۔

تاہم ذرائع نے مزید بتایا کہ وزیر اعظم پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کی قیمتوں کے بارے میں حتمی فیصلہ کریں گے۔

مارچ 15 کو ، وفاقی حکومت نے اوگرا کی طرف سے پیش کردہ سمری کو مسترد کرتے ہوئے ، ملک میں پٹرول اور تیز رفتار ڈیزل کی قیمتوں میں اضافے کے خلاف فیصلہ کیا تھا۔

پٹرول اور تیز رفتار ڈیزل کی قیمتیں بالترتیب 111.90 روپے اور 116.8 روپے فی لیٹر پر برقرار ہیں۔
