Pakistans Worst Ever Bowling Attack

I feel utterly disapointed in the current crop of fast bowlers playing in the Asia cup (apart from S.Tanvir).

Shall we re-cap on what has caused such a downfall? I guess you can blame alot of parties but my blame is towards the PCB and its messed up policies.

We are playing with RAO, Tanvir & Wahab, Rauf

Gul - Injured
Asif - Drugs
Akhter - Banned
Sohail K - Ill
Sami - Banned (ICL)
R. Naveed - Banned (ICL)
A. Razzak - Banned (ICL)
Shabbir Ahmend - Banned (ICL)
Shahid Nazir - Banned (ICL)
Riyaz Afridi - Banned (ICL)

Now a list of potential youth in domestic circuit but why are they not playing???????????

I feel sorry for Pakistan cricket at the moment as i do not see anything happening apart from them going downhill, the current bowling attack can only trouble the likes of Bangladesh & Zimbabwe.

My idea to resolve situation!

1. Call up uncapped players - lets release some RAW talent
2. Call back Shoaib, Asif and when Gul is back we prob have the best pace attack in the world
3. Call banned ICL players back.

I really hope inshallah something happens as currently i cant even watch any pakistan matches because of the pathetic perfomances.

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated

paki attack look more like bangladeshi attack.

I've seen club teams having a better pace attack.

Tanvin ko nikal do, they cant even win from a county team.

in my oppinion we ned god bowlers back and ifeel very stronly that we should have pakistani coches and a new pcb comete

I say sack lawson, bring waseem akram as a coach. sack nasim ashraf and bring imran khan az PCB head. Bring shoaib akhtar back but on prabation. and send young new prospects to dennis lilly's acedemy in india to develop so when they come back, they have a teacher like akram showing them the ropes.

I say Sack Lawson and Call in Wasim Akram as Proper Coach & have Inzi as batting Coach.

Yeah i couldn't agree more, most pothetic bowling attack in pakistan's cricketing history. And i would blame miss management and lack of passion but i think root cause of this problem is super ego of Naseem Ashraf(mini dictator) sack ASAP. I agree bring back Shoaib and give him some responsibility by making him vice captain. We need Asif back as well.

If thngs stay like thz i think that bangladesh will beat Pakistan......Rite now PCB has to aloow da ICL players to play for there country ....which will be good for pakistan

I agree. Lawson should be sacked as coach. He hasn't done anything with the team since he took over. (ignore the matches agianst bangladesh and zimbabwe). The kitply cup final was a fluke. in the asia cup, pakistan have won only one match, and that too against hong kong!

Replace lawson with a urdu speaking coach. have a seperate bowling coach as well.

bowlers we still have (not banned completely) and likely to participate in Champions Trophy Sept 2008.

guys you are all right abt wt u said in this post .. but as usual v as pakistanis are thinking with our heart not with brains.. why bring shoaib in the team ?? when he is unfit 9 outof 10 matches. he will be spoiling a position of some upcoming talent. players who have been banned were told many times before their signing of ICL contract, that the should not sign the contract. they all went for money and they did not cared about the prestige of pakistan.

asif and shoaib are world class bowlers but guys be honest and think agian ARE THEY HONEST ABOUT THE INTEGRITY OF PAKISTAN. does their attitude show that they care a damn about pakistan's prestige??

believe me there is nothing wrong with current team .. give them time they only need spirit and backup from us. we just won series in india. Pakistani players performed excellent in IPL. so the only thing that lacks is unity.

I agree that the current bowling attack is very weak!

With regards to Shoaib & Asif. Shoaib has had his lesson and should come back - maybe to only play ODI's as his body is prone to breakdown every other match.

With Asif he needs a ban for a few matches and to come back stronger then ever! I also think he needs to increase his pace a bit as he bowls military medium which is fine with his line & length but i have seen at times he gets absolutely battered coz of the pace he bowls.

My bet for the Champions trophy is to have the following bowlers:

Umar Gul - If Fit!
Sohail Tanveer

Sohail Khan - I seen him @ 90mph and looks good but has yet not been tested against quality opposition (its time now)
Wahab Riaz - Got pace and picks up wickets but is expensive
Abdur Rauf - Looks Good line & length bowler
Rao Iftikar (He is Shite)
