Sahib e Asra, the 26-year-old sprinter, received an unexpected gift of imported spikes, which later led to a taxing situation.
While talking to the press, Sahib e Asra conveyed her appreciation to the media and her fans for their relentless efforts in assisting her to obtain the gifted spikes without the burden of exorbitant taxes.
A Much-Needed Aid for Training
Media reports disclosed that the spikes, worth Rs. 55,000, were essential for Sahib e Asra to continue her training, replacing her worn-out pair.
As a gesture of goodwill, Sahib e Asra represented Pakistan at the 13th South Asian Games in 2019, where she demonstrated her prowess and secured three medals: a bronze in 400m, and silver and bronze in 400m and 100m, respectively.
A Resolution Achieved
Despite facing a staggering demand of Rs. 68,000 in taxes by the authorities, the issue has been successfully resolved, and Sahib e Asra now possesses the much-needed spikes.
