Pakistan Faces Major Internet Disruption

In recent developments, Nationwide Internet Outage Affects Multiple Cities and regions in Pakistan have encountered disruptions. Authorities are actively working to identify the root cause of this widespread outage. Preliminary information suggests that the issue might be linked to international traffic rather than local network problems.

Despite the disruption, Meta platforms, including Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram, continue to function smoothly, providing a communication lifeline amidst the outage. This has allowed people to stay connected and informed while other services experience difficulties.

No Internet in Pakistan

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as more information becomes available. Nayatel, one of the country’s prominent ISPs, reported that its services remain unaffected. Minor issues were noted in some southern cities but have since been resolved. The northern network, covering key areas such as Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, and Faisalabad, has experienced no interruptions, highlighting the inconsistency of the disruption.

Some ISPs continue to face challenges, while others maintain normal operations. This inconsistency suggests that the problem might be isolated to specific networks or regions. The PTA has indicated that the current slowdown in internet speeds is due to technical issues, with PTCL officials attributing the disruption to a fault in the underground submarine cable. This fault has impacted internet services nationwide.

As efforts to resolve the issue continue, the public is encouraged to remain patient. Authorities and service providers are working diligently to restore full connectivity and ensure a stable internet experience for all users. More details will be shared as the situation develops.
