Netflix is set to unveil its much-awaited series, based on the renowned Japanese manga, One Piece.
The show has been adapted by the original creator of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda, who also serves as an executive producer for the Netflix series. Previous live-action adaptations of animes, like Death Note and Cowboy Bebop, had faced significant backlash from fans, but this time, Oda’s active involvement promises a different approach.
Oda’s dedication to the project resulted in a seven-year-long production process. The manga itself has already amassed a massive global fanbase over the decades, thanks to its animated series.
The story revolves around a young protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy, who embarks on a quest to find the legendary ‘One Piece‘ treasure, left behind by the former Pirate King, Gold Roger.
With his eyes firmly set on the prize, Luffy forms the Straw Hat Pirates, an eccentric crew comprising a skilled swordsman Roronoa Zoro, the sharp-witted navigator Nami, the resourceful sniper Usopp, and the charismatic yet enigmatic chef, Sanji.
